SOME CHARACTERISTICS OF SATURATION FLOW
AN INVESTIGATION IS DESCRIBED INTO SOME OF THE CHARACTERISTICS OF SATURATION FLOW, CARRIED OUT IN THE SUMMER OF 1968, UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF THE ROAD RESEARCH LABORATORY DURING THEIR EXPERIMENT IN AREA TRAFFIC CONTROL IN GLASGOW. THE PROCEDURES USED IN THE INVESTIGATION PROVIDE A MEANS OF DETECTING THE END OF SATURATION AND DECIDING LANE USE AT STABLE INTERSECTIONS WITH A FAIRLY HIGH DEGREE OF ACCURACY. /RRL/
