DELAY AND INTERFERENCE IN COMBINED LANES AT UNSIGNALIZED INTERSECTIONS
THE DEVELOPMENT OF A QUEUEING MODEL THAT APPROXIMATES THE BEHAVIOR OF VEHICLES IN A COMBINED RITH-TURING LANE AT AN UNSIGNALIZED INTERSECTION IS PRESENTED. NUMERICAL RESULTS FOR AVERAGE DELAY AND DELAY PROBABILITIES ARE GIVEN FOR A WIDE RANGE OF FLOW CONITIONS. THE MODEL IS THEN USED TO DEVELOP WARRANTS FOR SPECIAL RIGHT-TURNING LANES AND THE SOLUTION IS DISCUSSED IN THE LIGHT OF CAPACITYY REDUCTION AND POSSIBLE LANE UTILIZATION. /AUTHOR/
