DURING 1970 THE FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION PUBLISHED DOCKET 19001, WHICH SETS ASIDE FOUR PAIRS OF 453- AND 458-MHZ FREQUENCIES FOR A MOTORIST AID SYSTEM CAPABLE OF HANDLING TWO-WAY VOICE DUPLEX COMMUNICATIONS WITH A TONE ON THE CARRIER FOR BOX LOCATION IDENTIFICATION, STATUS OF BATTERY LIFE, SECURITY CONDITIONS, INTERROGATION FUNCTION, TRAFFIC CONTROL, TRAFFIC COUNTING, AND REMOTE CONTROL OF CHANGEABLE MESSAGE SIGNS.
