STUDIES OF PARKING DEMAND AS OBSERVED AT PARKING TERMINALS

THE TECHNIQUES AND PROCEDURES OF PARKING SURVEYS CONDUCTED BY BOY SCOUTS IN DETROIT, MICHIGAN AND ATLANTA, GEORGIA ARE DESCRIBED. PARKING IN THE ENTIRE CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT WAS SURVEYED IN ONE DAY BETWEEN 7 A.M. AND 7 P.M. ALL FIELD WORK WAS CONDUCTED BY BOY SCOUTS IN FULL UNIFORM. SUPERVISION WAS DIVIDED AMONG BOY SCOUT EXECUTIVES, CITY EMPLOYEES, AND ADULTS PROVIDED BY VARIOUS DOWNTOWN ESTABLISHMENTS. DETAILED INFORMATION ON CONDUCTING THE SURVEY, THE RESULTS AND THE METHOD OF CODING IS INCLUDED. /AUTHOR/
