MTA FINDS NEW DO-IT-YOURSELF RADIO REPAIR SHOP SAVES DOLLARS
THE NEW YORK CITY TRANSIT AUTHORITY HAS JUST COMPLETED A NEW REPAIR CENTER TO TAKE CARE OF ITS VAST COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK, ONE OF THE LARGEST COMMERCIAL TWO-WAY RADIO SYSTEMS IN THE WORLD. THE COMMUNICATION CENTER HELPS TO SERVICE THE TWO-WAY RADIO EQUIPMENT OF THE TRANSIT AUTHORITY AND ITS BUS SUBSIDIARY, THE MANHATTAN AND BRONX SURFACE OPERATING AUTHORITY. THE COMMUNICATIONS CENTER WILL HELP TO ENSURE THE HIGHEST DEPENDABILITY OF SUPPLYING SWIFT REPLACEMENT AND REPAIRS OF ALL TYPES ON THE SENSITIVE COMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT. IT WILL ALSO RESULT IN A CONSIDERABLE SAVINGS IN MAINTENANCE COSTS. THE CENTER ALSO HOUSES THE FIRE EXTINQUISHER, REPAIR AND RENEWAL SQUAD WHERE THE TRANSIT AUTHORITY'S FIRE EXTINGUISHERS ARE PERIODICALLY TESTED, REPAIRED AND REFILLED.
