M4 MOTORWAY SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM. 3. OUTSTATION EQUIPMENT
A FREEWAY TRAFFIC SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM IS DESCRIBED. AN OUTSTATION CONSISTS OF A RESPONDER, ONE SIGNAL DRIVER PER PAIR OF SIGNALS, AND UP TO EIGHT TRAFFIC SIGNALS. THERE ARE 20 RESPONDERS HOUSED IN CABINETS ALONG THE ROAD. CLOSED CIRCUIT TELEVISION AND EMERGENCY TELEPHONES ARE ALSO USED. /HSL/
