TESTS CONDUCTED AT THE NATIONAL BUREAU OF STANDARDS SHOW THAT SIPING DOES NOT INCREASE THE SKID RESISTANCE OF TIRES ON WET PAVEMENTS AND MAY UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES DECREASE IT. TYPES OF TESTS AND TEST PARAMETERS ARE DESCRIBED.
