DIMENSIONS AND WEIGHTS OF HIGHWAY TRAILER COMBINATIONS AND TRUCKS - 1959
A TOTAL OF 90,200 TRAILER COMBINATIONS AND 65,100 SINGLE- UNIT TRUCKS WERE WEIGHED AND MEASURED IN 1959. BOTH EMPTY AND LOADED CATEGORIES WERE INCLUDED IN THESE 155,300 VEHICLES. THE SAMPLE WAS BELIEVED TO GIVE A CROSS-SECTION OF THE HIGHWAY FREIGHT VEHICLES IN USE IN THE CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES. THE DISTRIBUTION OF HIGHWAY FREIGHT VEHICLES IN TERMS OF WEIGHTS AND DIMENSIONS WAS SHOWN.
