A BRIEF DESCRIPTION IS GIVEN OF TESTS CARRIED OUT IN THE VELSEN TUNNEL, NETHERLANDS, TO DEVELOP AN AUTOMATIC SYSTEM OF TRAFFIC SURVEILLANCE AND CONTROL IN ROAD TUNNELS. SUCH A SYSTEM WOULD BE BASED UPON THE USE OF TELEVISION CAMERAS AND MONITORS, VIDEO SIGNALS, AND DOPPLER RADAR FOR MEASURING VEHICLE SPEEDS. /TRRL/
