Development of performance indicators for intermodal freight and road-based public transport

This paper describes work in progress on an Austroads project to develop additional national performance indicators for road-based public transport and intermodal freight for reporting to the Australian Transport Council. The paper briefly describes the Australian transport system context, the coordination between the Commonwealth, State and Territory governments, the process used by Austroads to develop the recommended indicators, and the recommended indicators themselves.
