VIRTUES OF CENTRIFUGALLY CAST STEEL CARGO OIL PIPES
Corrosion resistance and good workability. The centrifugal casting process for cast steel, has led to its use in cargo oil pipes in several tankers. The advantages of centrifugal casting over static casting are examined with regard to the range of chemical composition, formation of gas pockets and sink blowholes, uniformity, accurate dimensions, and residual stress.
