MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR CAMPUS TRAFFIC PLANNING

THE NEED FOR A STANDARD PROCEDURE FOR ESTABLISHING AND IMPLEMENTING A CAMPUS TRAFFIC AND PARKING IMPROVEMENT FORMED THE BASIS OF THIS STUDY. THE STUDY IDENTIFIED AND EVALUATED VARIOUS ELEMENTS ASSOCIATED WITH A CAMPUS TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM, SUCH AS ORGANIZATION, STAFF RESPONSIBILITIES, FUNCTIONS, FINANCE, AND PRACTICAL CONSTRAINTS. MORE SPECIFICALLY, THE GUIDELINES SUGGESTED CONSIDERED THE REQUIREMENTS AND THE DESIRED FUNCTIONS OF A CAMPUS PROGRAMMING UNIT. AN ORGANIZATIONAL SCHEME WAS DERIVED TO SHOW HOW THE PROGRAM SHOULD FUNCTION. THE PROCEDURE WAS FORMULATED FROM A LOGICAL VIEWPOINT TO SEEK THE GENERALITY OF THE WORK PLAN. IT WAS BELIEVED THAT THE MODEL OR PROCEDURE DEVELOPED BY THIS STUDY SHOULD PROVIDE VALUABLE INSIGHT IN PROGRAMMING A CAMPUS TRANSPORTATION STUDY ON A COMPREHENSIVE SCALE, AND THAT THE BASIC PROCEDURE WITH ONLY MINOR MODIFICATIONS COULD BE APPLICABLE TO ANY TYPE OF CAMPUS WITH SPECIFIC CHARACTERISTICS. /ASCE/
