Site accessibility assessment of new developments with GIS capabilities
Transport planners and engineers have the challenging task of formulating cost effective road network system to facilitate efficient and safe movement of goods and people. This task requires manipulation of huge amount of data collection such as road network, land use information, socio-economic data, transport and traffic related data to conduct the conventional traffic studies for a regional traffic studies. The use of collective traffic impact assessment report for development projects can overcome the cumbersome and costly activities. Hence, this paper lays out the framework for development of site accessibility assessment with GIS capabilities to update the regional traffic model.
