Integrated demand responsive transport and taxi: case Tampere, Finland
Dial-a-ride, schools transport, special needs, hospital and social service transport, home deliveries, community transport, taxis, service lines etc. are examples of transports to be daily scheduled. There are a lot of people and user groups that are scheduling journeys to passenger transport vehicles and then informing drivers of route details. These kind of planning and scheduling activities are often labour intensive, and at the same time quite inefficient. New kind of solutions have been developed. This paper describes the Tampere case in Finland.
