PROTECTIVE COATINGS FOR HIGHWAY STRUCTURAL STEEL. CURRENT HIGHWAY PRACTICES
A review was made of practices, specifications and experiences of the 50 state highway departments regarding painting highway structural steel. Interviews were conducted covering the following topics: paint life, costs, surface preparation, types of paint in use, most difficult problems, AASHO specifications and also included in tabulated form, current state specifications.
