PREVENTING SLIPPING OF TRAIN WHEELS
Experiments into the use of chemical sprays from wheel-actuated lineside distributors were conducted using ethyl capryllate, sodium metasilicate, and Syton W 20. There is already some evidence that an improvement in time lost due to slipping has occurred, but it would be premature to say how great this is, or to what extent it has been maintained.
