FURTHER APPLICATIONS OF A STATISTICAL MODEL OF TRAFFIC NOISE
A STATISTICAL MODEL OF CITY TRAFFIC NOISE IS DESCRIBED. WHILE THE ORIGINAL THEORY WAS DESIGNED TO APPLY TO TRAFFIC SITUATIONS OF THE TYPE LIKELY TO OCCUR AT CITY JUNCTIONS, IT WAS SHOWN THAT THE STATISTICAL MODEL COULD ALSO DESCRIBE PEDESTRIAN NOISE IN A TRAFFIC-FREE SHOPPING PRECINCT. THE PRESENT NOTE INDICATES THAT THE MODEL CAN ALSO BE APPLIED TO TRAFFIC NOISE ON AN URBAN MOTORWAY AND A FAST INTER-CITY ROAD OF THE DUAL CARRIAGEWAY TYPE. /TRRL/
