CALCULATION OF LUMINANCE FOR STREET LIGHTING BY MEANS OF ELECTRONIC DATA PROCESSING
IN ACCORDANCE WITH GERMAN STANDARDS LUMINANCE SHOULD BE AN IMPORTANT FACTOR IN THE DESIGN AND EVALUATION OF ALL LIGHTING INSTALLATIONS. DETAILS ARE GIVEN OF A METHOD OF CALCULATION IN WHICH LUMINANCE AT A PARTICULAR POINT ON THE ROAD CAN BE DETERMINED BY COMPUTER. THE LIGHT DISTRIBUTION CURVES OF THE LAMPS ARE AUTOMATICALLY RECORDED ON PUNCHED TAPE BY MEANS OF A ROTATING MIRROR APPARATUS. THE REFLECTION PROPERTIES OF THE SURFACING ARE REPRESENTED BY A DIAGRAM, THE DATA FOR THIS BEING OBTAINED BY THE SMIATEK AND ROCH METHOD. /TRRL/
