THE AUTHOR EXAMINES THE GENERAL DESIGN OF AMBULANCES FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF HEATING, LIGHTING, NOISE LEVEL, VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION AND PROGRESS THROUGH TRAFFIC, AND VEHICLE MOTIONS AND THEIR EFFECTS ON PATIENTS' CONDITIONS. ATTENTION IS DRAWN TO THE NEED FOR EXTENSIVE RESEARCH IN THE FIELD OF PRUPOSE-BUILT AMBULANCE DESIGN WITH A VIEW TO INCREASING THE COMFORT AND CHANGE OF SURVIVAL OF THE PATIENTS CARRIED. /TRRL/
