Understanding the whole life costs of technology projects in the highways market
Technology has an ever increasing presence in providing solutions for today's problems - whether in the transport industry or elsewhere. Technology assets are everywhere and take many shapes and form. Not only is there considerable diversity in how technology assets are being managed but a great deal of asset related data is being recorded but not utilised. This paper introduces the benefits may be obtained for highways technology assets by adopting a whole life cost (WLC) approach and how these can be realised though description of a generic WLC model.
