ACCIDENTS AND ROADWAY GEOMETRICS AT BRIDGE APPROACHES
OKLAHOMA STUDIES EXPLORED RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN NUMBER OF ACCIDENTS AND GEOMETRIC ELEMENTS OF A ROADWAY AT THE VICINITY OF BRIDGE LOCATIONS. MULTI- VARIATE REGRESSION ANALYSIS USING 11 INDEPENDENT VARIABLES WAS EMPLOYED IN DEVELOPING MODELS. AVERAGE DAILY TRAFFIC VOLUME, SIGHT DISTANCE AVAILABLE AT NIGHT, AND DEGREE OF CURVATURE ARE SIGNIFICANT. CORRELATION BETWEEN WET AND DRY PAVEMENTS, TWO AND FOUR LANE LOCATIONS, AND STATISTICS RELATING TO CONCRETE AND BITUMINOUS PAVEMENTS ARE GIVEN. /AUTHOR/
