BAYESIAN ANALYSIS OF ACCIDENT DATA
THE USE OF BAYESIAN TECHNIQUES IN ANALYZING HIGHWAY ACCIDENT DATA IS DISCUSSED, WITH SPECIFIC REFERENCE TO THE AREA OF THE OVER-INVOLVEMENT OF DRINKING DRIVERS IN ACCIDENTS. THE USE OF THESE TECHNIQUES IN FORMULATING ACCIDENT-CAUSATION MODELS IS CONSIDERED, AND THE REQUIREMENTS IMPOSED BY THESE TECHNIQUES ON THE DATA COLLECTION PROCESS ARE EXAMINED.
