BLOOD PRESSURE-NEGLECTED FACTOR IN SAFETY
THIS PAPER PROPOSES THAT THERE IS A CURVILINEAR RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BLOOD PRESSURE AND ACCIDENT INVOLVEMENT (OR ACCIDENT POTENTIAL), UNDESIRABLE CONDITIONS PREVAILING AT BOTH EXTREMES OF THE BLOOD PRESSURE SCALE. THE DIASTOLIC INDEX MAY BE EVEN MORE SIGNIFICANT THAN THE MORE COMMONLY CONDIDERED SYSTOLIC LEVEL. THE AUTHOR FEELS THAT SHOULD BE DULY RECOGNIZED IN SAFETY EDUCATION AND TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT BY DRIVER LICENSING AGENCIES.
