RUMBLE STRIPS
AFTER TWO MODEST EXPERIMENTS WITH "SINGING LANES" A FULL-SCALE INSTALLATION OF RUMBLE STRIPS WAS MADE ON THE NORTHERN APPROACHES TO THE RED LION CIRCLE. THIS JOB ON ROUTE 26, BURLINGTON COUNTY, HAS BEEN PRECEDED BY METHODICAL TRIALS AT FERNWOOD. TO THIS DATE, THE RED LION PROTOTYPE HAS PROVED EFFECTIVE AND DURABLE. IT LED TO A SET OF TENTATIVE SPECIFICATIONS FOR FURTHER APPLICATIONS OF THE "RUMBLE" PRINCIPLE. /HSL/
