RELIABILITY ANALYSIS OF A COMPUTERIZED TRAFFIC CONTROL SYSTEM
VARIOUS BOUNDS ARE OBTAINED ON THE RELIABILITY FUNCTION OF A PROPOSED URBAN TRAFFIC CONTROL SYSTEM. THESE BOUNDS ARE THE CRUDE SERIES-PARALLEL BOUNDS, THE MIN-PATH MIN-CUT BOUNDS, AND BOUNDS GIVEN BY AN EXPONENTIAL SURVIVAL FUNCTION. IT IS POINTED OUT THAT THESE BOUNDS ARE VALID FOR A GENERAL CLASS OF FAILURE DISTRIBTUIONS FOR THE COMPONENTS OF THE SYSTEM, AS WELL AS THE SITUATION WHEREIN COMPONENT INTERDEPENDENCIES MAY EXIST.
