The Liveable Arterials Project: an integrated and interactive approach to urban arterial road planning and management
The Auckland City Council's Transport Strategy Group commissioned a new approach to the planning and management of the city's arterial road network which was termed the Liveable Arterials Plan. This paper describes the content of the Liveable Arterials Plan and the process adopted for its development. It then discusses the next step in the process which is the development of Corridor Management Plans. Conclusions are drawn from the lessons learned.
