A PROTOTYPE SIGN HAS BEEN DEVELOPED BY THE NEW JERSEY DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION WHICH DEMONSTRATES, WITHOUT DOUBT, THE POSSIBILITY OF HAVING A HIGHWAY SIGN APPEARING IN SPACE WITHOUT PHYSICAL STRUCTURE, WITHIN AN AREA ADJACENT TO THE HIGHWAY WHICH MIGHT BE HIT BY A CAR RUNNING OFF THE ROADWAY.
