A DETAILED PLAN IS GIVEN FOR ESTABLISHING AN EXCLUSIVE BUS LANE FOR PEAK-HOUR TRAFFIC. IT INCLUDES DISCUSSIONS ON /1/ ACCESS TO THE BUS LANE, WHICH COVERS EXISTING TRAFFIC CONDITIONS, ROUTINGS, BYPASSING, AND FIVE ALTERNATE ACCESS SCHEMES, /2/ TRAFFIC CONTROL FOR THE LANE, WHICH COVERS SEPARATION OF TRAFFIC LANES, HIGH-INTENSITY LIGHTS TO DELINEATE LANES, AND TRAFFIC SIGNS AND SIGNALS, /3/ THE HANDLING OF STOPPAGES IN THE LANE, AND /4/ SPECIFIC RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE SYSTEM.
