PARTICULAR HANDLING SAFETY PROBLEMS OF TRUCKS AND ARTICULATED VEHICLES
INTEGRATED OVERVIEW OF TRUCK AND ARTICULATED VEHICLE HANDLING SAFETY TECHNOLOGY. RESEARCH UTILIZING MODELING, MATHEMATICAL ANALYSIS AND EXPERIMENTAL TECHNIQUES HAS BEEN EVALUATED TO DETERMINE ITS ROLE IN PROVIDING SAFE OPERATION OF TRUCKS AND ARTICULATED VEHICLES ON THE HIGHWAY. THE APPLICATION OF THIS TECHNOLIGY TO THE SOLUTION OF SAFETY RELATED PROBLEMS AND TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF OPERATIONAL LIMITS IS DISCUSSED. CONCLUSIONS ON THE PRESENT STATE OF TRUCK AND ARTICULATED VEHICLE TECHNOLOGY ARE PROVIDED ALONG WITH RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FUTURE WORK IN THIS AREA.
