TRAFFIC ENGINEERS AND THE PEDESTRIAN
PEDESTRIAN STUDIES OF THE LAST SEVERAL YEARS ARE DISCUSSED. RESEARCH HAS BEEN DONE IN THE AREAS OF PEDESTRIAN SPEED, DENSITY, AND FLOW; SEPARATION OF PEDESTRIAN AND VEHICULAR TRAFFIC; AND DEVICES TO AID PEDESTRIAN FLOW, SUCH AS MOVING SIDEWALKS, MINIBUSES, AND MOBILE AIRPORT LOUNGES. THESE DEVICES ARE STILL TOO EXPENSIVE FOR GENERAL APPLICATION. /AUTHOR/
