PROBLEMS IN MAJOR BOILER FEED PUMP PROJECTS

This article gives a general account of the condensate and boiler feed pump layouts employed most usually. The factors governing selection and projection are discussed, together with various drives and methods of control. Operational reliability, economy and investment costs are compared, and the influence on feed pump design of the high availability demanded from these machines today is mentioned.
