THE SAFETY SEDAN: SUMMARY OF FINAL REPORT
THE NEW YORK STATE SAFETY SEDAN IS SUMMARIZED. THE OUTSTANDING FEATURES ARE DISCUSSED, WITH DETAILED PHOTOGRAPHS AND DRAWINGS. THE OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAM ARE STATED AND THE STEPS TAKEN TO IMPLEMENT THEM ARE DESCRIBED. THE VARIOUS ACCIDENT-REDUCING FEATURES ARE SHOWN INCLUDING THOSE DIRECTED AT PEDESTRIAN SAFETY AS WELL AS THOSE CONCERNED WITH THE OCCUPANTS. INTENSIVE RESEARCH HAS SHOWN THAT SAFERS CARS CAN BE BUILT AND THAT PRACTICAL VEHICLE STANDARDS CAN BE ESTABLISHED.
