VISUAL MOTION THRESHOLDS FOR SIMULATED NIGHT DRIVING
THE EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF THE DRIVERS VISUAL MOTION THRESHOLD FOR SIMULATED NIGHT DRIVING HAS YIELDED TWO SETS OF INVARIANT THRESHOLD EQUATIONS. ONE SET INTERRELATES THE ACCELERATION THRESHOLD, PRESENTATION TIME AND SIMULATED HEADWAY. THE CORRESPONDING ANGULAR VELOCITY THRESHOLDS WERE COMPARED WITH VALUES OBTAINED IN AN ACTUAL DRIVING SITUATION AND SOME ROUGH CORRELATION BETWEEN THE SIMULATED AND REAL WORLD DATA WAS OBSERVED. /AUTHOR/
