DEVELOPMENT OF PLANS FOR PUBLIC EVALUATION OF POLARISED HEADLIGHTS
ON THE BASIS OF PRIOR STUDIES SHOWING THE TECHNICAL ADVANTAGES OF VEHICLE HEADLIGHTING, AN EVALUATION OF SUCH LIGHTING IN A LARGE-SCALE PUBLIC TEST WAS PROPOSED. THIS STUDY CONSTITUTES, IN PART, THE PRELIMINARY PLANNING FOR SUCH A TEST AND INCLUDES THE DESIGN OF NECESSARY COMPONENTS FOR MODIFYING VEHICLES AS WELL AS THE RESULTS OF A PILOT STUDY UTILIZING APPROXIMATELY 50 VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH POLARIZED HEADLIGHTS. /FHWA/
