HUMAN RESPONSE TO WHOLE-BODY VIBRATION
RESEARCH CONCERNING SEVERAL TYPES OF HUMAN RESPONSE TO WHOLE BODY VIBRATION IS REVIEWED AND EVALUATED. MAJOR EMPHASIS IS ON TWO CATEGORIES OF BEHAVIORAL RESEARCH, SUBJECTIVE JUDGMENTS OF VIBRATION INTENSITY AND THE EFFECTS OF VIBRATION ON HUMAN PERFORMANCE. DISCUSSION OF THE BIODYNAMIC RESPONSE OF THE HUMAN BODY VIBRATION PROVIDES BACKGROUND INFORMATION TO AID THE READER IN UNDERSTANDING AND INTERPRETING VIBRATION PARAMETERS AND RESULTS OF BEHAVIOURAL STUDIES. ALSO INCLUDED ARE CONSIDERATIONS OF THE MECHANISMS THROUGH WHICH VIBRATION AFFECTS BEHAVIOURAL RESPONSE, AND SOME PROBLEMS AND SHORTCOMINGS IN HUMAN VIBRATION RESEARCH. /TRRL/
