FROM DISASTER--SAFETY
Most of the major British accidents from 1840 to 1940 are described in a book "Red for Danger", by L.T.C. Rolt. The book is a record of gloom; however looked on as a record of the history that has produced modern safety devices the book is understandable and very readable. The critics main disappointment in the book is that the safety devices developed to prevent accidents were not incorporated in the same book.
