An overview of high-speed railway lines in revenue service around the world at the end of 2010 and new links envisaged

This article provides an overview of high-speed railway lines, addressing countries which have at least one railway line in revenue service on which, for at least one type of train, both have a maximum speed of V sub max greater than or equal to 200 km/h; and a commercial speed between two stations of V sub c greater than or equal to 150 km/h. Each country is given a table with the following categories: length, year of start of operation, and maximum velocity, as well as, if applicable, a paragraph describing new links envisioned. Countries included are as follows: Japan, France, Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands, Spain, The United Kingdom, Italy, Sweden, Finland, Turkey, USA, South Korea, Taiwan and China.
