INVESTIGATIONS OF MAN'S LINEAR ACCELERATION THRESHOLD
THREE STUDIES CONCERNING HUMAN PERCEPTION OF ACCELERATION SHOWED THAT MAN'S MEAN THRESHOLD SENSITIVITY LEVEL IS BETWEEN 0.01G AND 0.02G. THESE STUDIES SHOW THAT MAN IS CAPABLE OF SENSING ACCELERATION DIFFERENCES AT A LEVEL WHICH IS LOW ENOUGH TO BE OF VALUE IN CONTROLLING A MOTOR VEHICLE. FOUR VARIABLES APPEARED TO HAVE A POTENTIAL EFFECT ON THE THRESHOLD.
