THE PROBLEM OF THE HEIGHT OF BUMPERS /IN FRANCE/
VARIOUS SOLUTIONS TO THE PROBLEM OF BUMPERS ARE PRESENTED. STEEL SHEET BUMPERS COVERED WITH RUBBER, SEMI-HARD PLASTIC BUMPERS THAT CAN ABSORB LIGHT SHOCKS. BUMPERS AROUND THE CAR WOULD DEFINITELY SETTLE THE PROBLEM OF STANDARDIZING THEIR HEIGHT: THEY AFFORD DOUBLE PROTECTION WHILE PROTECTING THE CORNERS OF THE CAR BODY. VERY LOW BUMPERS ARE RECOMMENDED FOR LORRIES THUS POSITIONING THEM AT THE SAME HEIGHT AS THE BUMPERS OF AN AVERAGE CAR. FOR LORRIES HAVING TO TRAVEL ON ROUGH GROUND, THE FRONT BUMPER SHOULD BE ADJUSTABLE TO PROTECT THE RADIATOR AND RADIATOR GRILL. A BRIEF OUTLINE IS GIVEN OF U. S. REGULATIONS FOR BUMPERS. /LCPC/FESR/TRRL/
