AIR POLLUTION BY MOTOR VEHICLES /IN FRENCH/
THE AUTHOR ESTABLISHES A RELATION BETWEEN SMOG AND ROAD TRAFFIC, IDENTIFIES THE CAUSES OF AIR POLLUTION, AND PUTS FORWARD SOME REMEDIAL MEASURES. ATTENTION IS DRAWN TO CURRENT REGULATIONS IN THE USA, IN CALIFORNIA, AND WAYS OF ADAPTING THESE REGULATIONS IN EUROPEAN COUNTRIES ARE SOUGHT. A REVIEW IS PRESENTED OF DETECTION AND CONTROL METHODS, AND DETAILS GIVEN OF IMPROVED THERMAL AND ELECTRIC MOTORS, AND OTHER TYPES OF SOLUTION OF THE PROBLEM OF AIR POLLUTION. COSTS OF ANTI-POLLUTION MEASURES ARE QUOTED. /TRRL/
