SIMULATION OF TRAFFIC FLOW THROUGH LARGE TRAFFIC NETS
THE SIMULATION OF AN EXTENSIVE SYSTEM CAUSES DIFFICULTIES BECAUSE OF THE LIMITED MEMORY CAPACITY OF COMPUTERS AND THE LONG SIMULATION TIME REQUIRED FOR A REASONABLE DEGREE OF PRECISENESS. A MODEL HAS THEREFORE BEEN DEVELOPED WHICH IS BASED ON GROUPS OF VEHICLES INSTEAD OF SINGLE VEHICLES. PROVISIONAL RESULTS ARE GIVEN OF THE APPLICATION OF THIS METHOD TO AN EXISTING STREET NETWORK IN THE HAGUE. /SWOV/RRL/
