ACCIDENT FREQUENCY IN BAD WEATHER /IN GERMAN/
AN EVALUATION OF ACCIDENTS AT BLACK SPOTS SHOWS THAT THESE OCCUR TO A LARGE EXTENT IN WET WEATHER AND OFTEN AT ALMOST THE SAME POSITION. THE CAUSE OF THIS IS ATTRIBUTED IN THE MAIN TO ROAD ROAD CONDITIONS, FOR EXAMPLE THE FORMATION OF THICK LAYERS OF WATER IN PARTICULAR PLACES, RESULTING IN AQUAPLANING OF VEHICLES. IT IS SUGGESTED THAT THESE CONDITIONS COULD BE ALLEVIATED BY SUITABLE RECONSTRUCTION OF THE LONGITUDINAL AND TRANSVERSE HIGHWAY PROFILES. /FG/RRL/
