Persistent Organic Pollutants emissions from traffic: Final report

Emise persistentnich organickych polutantu z dopravy: závěrečná zpráva

The inventory of POPs presence and methods of their determinations were made, included their properties and sources. Exhaust gases originated due to fuel combustion in vehicles engines were identified as sources of these pollutants. In exhaust gases occur polychlorinated biphenyls, polychlorinated dibenzo dioxines, polychlorinated dibenzo difuranes and polyaromatic hydrocarbons. There were found a number of detemination methods PCDD/F embedded in respective normatives include recommended measure units. Summary of procedures for health and environmental risks of POPs was also elaborated. POPs determination was performed in collaboration with TÜV SÜD testing station, with TESO Ostrava (Czech Republic) sampling group and with POPs National reference laboratory of Health Institute Ostrava (Czech Republic). Methodology for the emission factors computation from measured concentrations was elaborated and the computing values were added to CDV (Czech Republic) emission factor database. Based on an analysis of the current state of the emission inventory of POPs, a proposal of POPs monitoring system in the future was proposed.
