MOTOR VEHICLE SIZE AND WEIGHT STUDY OF HEAVY MOTOR VEHICLE PERFORMANCE
PARTIAL AND PRELIMINARY RESULTS ARE PRESENTED IN TWO GRAPHS IN WHICH THE RATIO OF GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT TO NET HORSEPOWER (LB PER HP) IS THE CONSTANT. THE VARIABLES ARE TRAVEL TIME (HOURS) AND FUEL CONSUMPTION (GALLONS). IN BOTH GRAPHS SEPARATE CURVES ARE PRESENTED FOR TURNPIKES AND FOR U.S. HIGHWAYS WITHOUT LIMITED ACCESS.
