Research of new approaches to pedestrian road crossing solution

Vyzkum novych pristupu k reseni prechazeni chodcu pres pozemni komunikace

By the end of 2010 the „Pedestrians roads crossing“ method elaborated by the Transport Research Centre (CDV) was completed. This method appears as a result of the Ministry of Transport research project named „Research of new approaches to pedestrian road crossing solution“. It offers basic information on proper designing and installation of pedestrian crossings as well as their points on roads. It, however, should not recapitulate relevants standards but should update them through supplying objective examples and models. The recommendations included fit mostly to bulit-up areas, while particularities in rural areas are also shown. The method is intended to serve professionals and decision makers as a tool whenever taking requirements of traffic safety into account.
