Development of Next Generation Intelligent Airport System
For 5 years since 2008 until 2012, 252 billion (Korean) Won is required for this project to research and develop on improving technologies in basic components of airports such as passengers, cargo, and airport facilities. The purpose of the project is to actually apply this intelligent airport system to enhance airport services as well as security. This research is subdivided into 3 projects: 1) to simplify the process of the passengers for immigration security and reduction of process time; 2) to develop the security management technology of airport facilities for improving the safety of airport facilities and the efficiency of airport operations; and, 3) to develop the ubiquitous based air cargo management technology for raising the level of cargo handling services and efficiency of resources.
