Europe saw few experiences that led to drivers choosing their work (for example in Lausanne), but this remains very marginal. The ever increasing low cost computing power has more recently made it possible for architects to design systems and algorithms to provide calendar base flexible work allocation, making possible the elimination of traditional rostering approaches. These tools which can take account absences, vacations, and driver preferences are currently being implemented by some transit authorities, and the results are excellent
