Pilot study of types of casualty crashes experienced by tourists in a south-east Asian destination
Increased awareness of the details of road accidents involving foreign tourists may lead to a reduction in the number of injuries, protection of the tourists’ health, and preservation of the quality of their tourism experiences. This study investigated the type of road casualty accidents resulting mostly in the Outpatient Department attention to surgical dressings and sutures and experienced by British, German, and American tourists in one tourist location in South-East Asia, based on a review of the Injury Surveillance Form of the local hospital from 1999 to 2007.
