Improving Knowledge of ITS - Swedish ITS Training Programme

The Swedish Transport Administration (STA) has worked for several years with training and the dissemination of knowledge in the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) area. The aim is to increase the use of ITS, particularly at the local level. In the spring of 2010, the STA launched a computer-assisted ITS training programme aimed at transport planners and traffic engineers within the STA, and those working at municipalities and in the consultancy field. The training programme which is also web-based is derived from earlier work that resulted in the Swedish "The Road to ITS" manual and several tutored courses in the ITS area.
