EXTENDED ANALYTICAL TECHNIQUES FOR EVALUATING FREEWAY OPERATIONS IMPROVEMENT
THIS REPORT PRESENTS FINDINGS FROM A LITERATURE STUDY IN THE AREA OF (1) ECONOMIC ANALYSIS; (2) PREDICTION OF SAFETY, VEHICLE OPERATING COSTS, AND ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECTS OF DIFFERENT FREEWAY DESIGNS AND TRAFFIC CONDITIONS; AND (3) MONETARY TRANSLATION OF TRAVEL TIME, SAFETY, AND ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECTS. THE PURPOSE OF THE STUDY IS TO RECOMMEND PROCEDURES AND PARAMETER VALUES TO BE USED IN DEVELOPING A COMPUTER MODEL FOR THE EVALUATION OF NEW FREEWAYS OF FREEWAY IMPROVEMENTS.
